Two Unique Ultras less than 10 days apart
Next week I turn 33 years old and when I turned 31 I started a new tradition. Run my age in miles. At 31 I ran 13.1 miles because I had just started running 2 months prior. On my 32nd birthday I ran 50 miles just 2 days later so I rested, but counted them as birthday miles. This year I have decided to go nuts and run 33 miles on my birthday which is the 15th of February. The only catch is I plan on doing it on a treadmill. I don’t hate treadmill running and its not a world record or anything, but running 5 hours on a moving belt is not going to be “stimulating to the mind”.
So why did I say Two unique ultras? My wife and I will be experiencing our first cruise the following week, and nothing says celebrating likea a 50K at sea. So on one of our “Fun at Sea” Days my plan is to get up at 3-4 AM and run till I have completed 341 laps +/- 1 or 2 laps to complete 31 miles at sea. The 1/11th mile track will bring with it the movement of the boat, the high humidity, and winds. The best part is I won’t be alone on the track. My wife plans on running her own 1/2 Marathon at sea as well. The best part is we will still have a day or two to recover before coming home.
Did I mention I am running a 50 mile trail race on the 10th of March?
Race Report and results will be posted after I have completed the task.

I can’t even imagine what that would be like. Good luck and enjoy.
